Prosthetics & Orthotics Rehabilitation Center
("Center" for short in the following)
was built in 1950,invested by the Civil Admini-stration
Department of Shandong Province. It's a social welfare
service center supplying service to the arm men
and other people with disabi-tity.lt is also a standing
member of China Prosthesis Society.
The Center lies in the Jinan City, So called "Spring
City" It possesses assets about 50 million
yuan and its annual sale is about 20 million yuan.
The built-up area is 26000 square meters. The scale
of the corpor-ation is the biggest one in the prothetic
sector in China. There is a staff
of 400 in the Center, including 70 persons with
junior college or higher educational level and 100
secondary and senior medical and engin-eering technicians.
The Center includes
6 managing departments: prosthetic depart-
ment, orthotic department, reception department,
the research ins-
titute of prosthetic and orthotic nomalizers,
and the sales branches
of the wares for the handicapped. The Center
also has 4 administr-
ations: office section, account department,
security section, and es-
tate management department. To serve the handicapped
much be-
tter, the Center has set more than 20 branches
or service stations
all over Shandong province.s

The prosthetic department
can supply artificial limbs that imported from Germany,
England, Japan, America, France, Iceland and so
on. And the common handicapped can also be fitted
with the all-pervading artificial limbs produced
by the center. The products include the most advanced
intellective bionic legs, inductive-controlled myoelectric
arms and so on. The prosthetic department has imported
the most advanced producing facilities and examining
equipment, and also adopted the most advanced assembling
technology in the world in making artificial limbs.
Most of the technicians have 10-30 years of experiences
and they all have accepted the professional training
in making prosthesis .Some of the technicians have
been awarded in the National Match of Prosthetic
Technology. The Center's ~ power of technology,
the quality of products and the producing scale
are all in the highest flight in China. There are
many patients coming here from other areas of China
for its fame.
The orthotic appliances mainly include Rehband
system from Otto Bock of Germany, the foot protection
system from AEPS Company of America, and various
orthopaedic machines made of Chinese material by
foreign advanced technology.
The research institute belonging to the Center
is one of the assigned units by the Civil Administration
Department of China to produce prosthetic and orthotic
nomalizers. It supplies nomalizers for more than
200 artificial limb factories, assembly stations
and hospitals all over China, accounting for about
30% of the domestic market and some of its products
have been exported to Hong Kong, Tai Wan, Korea,
and Southeast Asia.
The Center pays much attention to the technical
interchange and co-operation with other companies
in prosthetic field in China or from other countries
and areas. Some of the technicians have ever been
sent to Germany, America, Canada, Japan, Australia
and Southeast Asia to visit and study. The Center
has also received the investigation delegations
from other countries such as Germany, Japan, America,
Canada, and Korea, and also developed technological
interchange and co-operation with them.
Shandong Prosthetics & Orthotics Rhabilitation
Center has become into a integrated social welfare
unit, which includes rehabilitation of the handicapped,
assembly of artificial limbs and orthopaedic machines,
and science research and development. Our service
tenet is: serve the handicapped with our full hearts.
And our development target is: keep a firm foothold
in Shandong to serve the whole country, and face
the world to contend for the first-class level.
